Some info about me (the word "I" is used a lot!)
I am a software developer, originally from Moscow Russia, born 1984-02-02, now residing in Bellevue WA; I have lived in Vancouver BC for a couple of years and I might go back there at some point. I am a complete computer geek. I like tons of music, both normal and weird, the favourite genre being progressive rock and favorite genre du jour changing all the time. I also like programming (obviously), board games, reading, computer games (CRPGs and strategy games mostly), thinking about stuff (too much), watching soccer (but not following teams/seasons - just watching), drinking beer, hanging out sometimes (but not often), cycling (over flat surfaces) and hiking (very rarely).
As a software developer I'm presently working in more-or-less pure C++/Win32, as well as C# (separately). I am slowly studying Erlang. My previous technology of choice was ASP.NET/C#/MSSQL/AJAX/complex JS/etc developing intricate web applications - and I am still undecided whether I like working on very challenging, large systems with slower rate of change or on nimble mid-sized and less-challenging (but still challenging!) apps, more. For details you can see my outdated CV. People tell me I am pretty good at what I do and at learning to do new things, and I hope they're not lying. In any case, I am not looking for job opportunities at present, unless it is an offer one cannot refuse :)
As a person I am a stereotypical good-natured, but hyperactive geek, a little stronger than average and with even less social skills than average.
As a "deeper" person, I am nihilistic (in a good, sober way - I think life cannot have any meaning), and I am trying to earn the right to call myself Stoic - however, that is somewhat successful only on macro scale. Geeks with short attention span don't make very good Stoics. I am assertively atheistic, but when people talk to me about religion irl, I temporarily convert to sun worship. I espouse the philosophy of "perfect mind" that basically loathes distinction between potentially possible (nearly-)perfect mind, and the brain which is much too physical. Also, I have this weird opinion that if one has settled to a definite scheme of life, he's as good as dead to himself.
