Frankly speaking, I just wanted to grab this domain given that shelukhin.ru is already taken. Русская версия.

Since I stopped freelancing, this site now serves no real purpose; to update it, I decided to write a bunch of stuff about myself - we all enjoy writing about that central topic in our lives. So I shall not try to resist the temptation to do it this time ;)
I also wanted to describe my weird views on humans, society and politics in a somewhat coherent manner, because different people, both well-meaning and intelligent and utter morons, keep misinterprenting them to various degree.

Who am I?

I am a software developer, originally from Moscow Russia, now residing in Vanocuver, BC, Canada. Born @1984-02-02.

I am a nerd; I spend nearly all my time at the computer, commuting (with PDA) and sleeping (sometimes using computers in my dreams). I like music, THE favourite genre being progressive rock. I also like bunch of other genres from jazz/funk to Tuva throat singing. Favourite bands are Bozzio Levin Stevens and other related projects, and Pink Floyd. I also like programming (obviously), reading, playing computer games (CRPGs and strategy games mostly), thinking about stuff, drinking beer, and even hanging out sometimes (but not often). In theory, I like learning languages, but the part where you need to talk to people always hinders me. I used to know Turkish on beginner level in addition to English and Russian. I also knew Quenya to certain degree a while ago :) As for sports - 50 pushups and improving ;)

I also like arguing about politics, religion and society online - see also my weird views on stuff, but I'm phasing that out. In general I don't give a damn about great many things :)

What do I do?

Previously, I used to freelance, but now I don't, so this section is largely not relevant to anything (as is this whole page).

I am a software developer, and rather good one in my (and apparently all of my employees' and most freelance contacts' and uni teachers' ;)) opinion. My language of preference is C#; at work these days I overwhelmingly use C++, which is also good. I like writing intricate JavaScript, pretty good with Transact SQL and SQL in general (worked with Postgres and MySQL in addition to MSSQL), I can do C (but prefer C++), and PHP (but I don't like it at all); I also used to write Perl and Delphi, and some minor languages that don't matter. I also learn quickly ;) In addition, I have some experience being a lead developer of a small team.

I have high degree of responsibility and above-average perfectionism pertaining to design and code. On the other hand, I don't like shared code ownership and non-perfectionism, and I'm opinionated ;) I tend to get lazy without deadlines if doing stuff that I consider is wrong or doesn't matter.
